Terms of Service
Effective:
These terms are an agreement between you and Things ("we") about using Things. By creating an account or using Things, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Things #
You must be at least 13 and able to agree to these terms. You can't use Things if we've banned you, or where the law doesn't allow it.
Your account #
- Give a real email address you control; we use it to sign you in.
- Keep your account safe. You can add a password and a passcode in Settings → Privacy and Security, and see and sign out your devices in Settings → Devices.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us with Settings → Ask a Question if you think someone else has used it.
- You can use up to three accounts on one device, or four with Things Premium.
Your content #
- It's yours. You keep the rights to what you post.
- What you let us do with it: so Things can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, show, copy, translate, summarize at a user's request, and share your content, to the audience you chose, in Things and in links to it. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others already shared within your settings, and backups kept for a limited time.
- You're responsible for it. Only post what you have the right to post.
- Your settings decide who sees it. You choose each post's and story's audience, who can reply and who can quote. Protect Content stops people saving, forwarding, sharing and screenshotting it in Things, but it can't stop someone photographing their screen with another device.
The rules #
Don't use Things to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- harass, threaten, bully or hate on anyone;
- post sexual content involving minors, or sexual content of anyone without their consent;
- impersonate someone or mislead people about who you are;
- post someone's private information without their permission;
- infringe someone's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- spam, run scams or post malware;
- create accounts or interactions automatically, scrape Things, or get around its limits and protections, Protect Content included;
- interfere with Things or other people's use of it.
What we can do #
We can remove content or limit who sees it, restrict features, or suspend or ban accounts that break these rules or the law, or that put others at risk. Where we can, we tell you why. To appeal a decision, use Settings → Ask a Question.
Anyone can report a post with Report Post in its menu.
Things Premium #
- Things Premium is a subscription sold through Apple, monthly or annually, at the price shown in the app before you subscribe.
- It renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews, in your Apple ID settings or from Settings → Things Premium → Manage Subscription.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms.
- If you subscribed on another device, use Restore Purchases in Settings → Things Premium.
- Premium features and limits can change. If we take away something you paid for, we'll tell you in Things first.
AI features #
Translations and summaries are made automatically and can be wrong. Don't rely on them for anything important.
Leaving Things #
- Deactivate in Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete Account Now → Deactivate Instead: your account is hidden until you sign in again.
- Delete in Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete Account Now: your account is hidden and deleted 30 days later, with your posts, stories and followers. Signing in during those 30 days keeps it.
- If you're away: an account that isn't used for the period chosen under Privacy and Security → If Away For is deleted. We email you 7 days before.
These terms still apply to anything that happened before your account ended.
Things as it is #
We work to keep Things running and safe, but we provide it "as is", without promising it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, Things isn't responsible for losses that come from using it or from what other people post.
Changes to these terms #
We'll update these terms as Things changes. For important changes we'll let you know in Things before they take effect. Using Things after that means you accept them.
Law and disputes #
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Disputes are heard by the courts of Riyadh.
