Getting started #

How do I sign in? # Enter your email and we'll send you a code. If you've set a password, you'll be asked for it after the code.

Can I use more than one account? # Yes. You can sign in to up to three accounts on one device, or four with Things Premium. Go to Settings → Add Account.

How do I change my email? # Go to Settings → Edit → Email. After the change, your old address can't be used to sign in or to create a new account for 14 days, so it can be moved back if someone else made the change.

How do I change the app's language? # Go to Settings → Language and pick one.

Posts #

Who can see my post? # When you write a post, choose who can see it: everyone, your followers, or only the people and lists you pick. You can also choose who can reply and who can quote it.

What does Protect Content do? # It stops people from saving your post or story, forwarding or sharing it, copying its link and taking screenshots of it in Things. It can't stop someone from photographing their screen with another device.

Can a post delete itself? # Yes. In the composer, set a post to delete itself after a day, a week or a month. To do it for every new post, go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Auto-Delete Posts. You can still change it on each post.

Can I schedule a post? # Yes. Pick a time in the composer and the post goes out then. You can also post without a notification sound.

What happens to a post I haven't finished? # Swipe down on the composer to minimize it and keep browsing. Drafts are saved to your account, so you can finish them on any device.

Can I edit a post after publishing it? # With Things Premium, yes. Tap and hold your post and choose Edit Post.

How do I format text? # Select text in the composer to format it. Type @ to mention someone and # to add a hashtag.

Stories #

How long does a story stay up? # 24 hours. With Things Premium you can choose 6, 12 or 48 hours.

How many stories can I post? # Up to 3 at once, 7 a week and 30 a month. With Things Premium: 100 at once, 700 a week and 3,000 a month.

What does Save to Profile do? # It keeps the story on your profile after it expires, for the people allowed to view it. Without it, the story disappears when it expires.

Can I choose who sees and replies to my story? # Yes. When posting, choose who can see it (everyone, your followers, or people you pick) and who can reply. You can also turn on Protect Content and Disable Quotes. To change who can see a story later, tap and hold it and choose Who Can See.

Can I repost someone's story? # Tap Share on the story and choose Repost Story. It's only there when the author allows sharing.

Can I watch stories without appearing in the viewers list? # With Things Premium, turn on Stealth Mode. It hides your views from the last 5 minutes and the next 25.

How do I stop seeing someone's stories? # Tap and hold their story and choose Hide Stories. To see them again, go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Hidden Stories.

Privacy and safety #

How do I make my account private? # Go to Settings → Privacy and Security and turn on Private Account. People then need your approval to follow you, and only your followers see your posts and stories.

How do I block, mute or report someone? # Block and mute from their profile; you can also mute from the menu on their name in a post. To report a post, tap and hold it and choose Report Post. Blocked and muted people are listed in Settings → Privacy and Security.

Can I lock the app? # Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Passcode and Face ID.

Can I add a password to my account? # Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Password. Once set, you're asked for it after the email code each time you sign in.

Where can I see which devices are signed in? # Go to Settings → Devices. You can sign out any device from there.

Your account #

What's the difference between deactivating and deleting? # Deactivating hides your account from everyone and signs you out on every device. Nothing is deleted: sign in again to bring it back. Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete Account Now → Deactivate Instead. Deleting removes your account, with your posts, stories and followers, 30 days after you ask. Until then it's hidden, and signing in lets you keep it.

How do I delete my account? # Go to Settings → Privacy and Security → Delete Account Now.

Can my account be deleted if I stop using Things? # Yes. Under Settings → Privacy and Security → If Away For, choose how long you can be away. If you don't open Things at least once in that time, your account is deleted with your posts, stories and followers. We email you 7 days before.

Things Premium #

What does Things Premium include? # Features such as a Premium badge, editing posts, seeing who opened them, translations and AI summaries, longer and more stories, Stealth Mode and an extra account. Settings → Things Premium lists everything.

How do I cancel? # Your subscription is through Apple. Cancel any time in your Apple ID settings, or from Settings → Things Premium → Manage Subscription.

I subscribed on another device. How do I get Premium here? # Go to Settings → Things Premium and tap Restore Purchases.
